The 2012 NBA Rookie of the Year, Kyrie Irving, has a lot of weight on his athletic shoulders. Not only is he heading the franchise that reigning MVP Lebron James left, the Cleveland Cavaliers, he is the cover athlete for one of the most storied sports video game franchises in history. In the year of their hopefully triumphant return to greatness, NBA Live decided to give their cover athlete a bit of behind the scenes assistance by recruiting some of the best up and coming talent that the league has to offer.

Their comeback marketing campaign to compete with the reigning champ, NBA2k14, is rightfully entitled “Nothing But Next”. Chosen to lead this effort along with Kyrie Irving are stars Damian Lillard (Portland Trail Blazers), Ricky Rubio (Minnesota Timberwolves), John Wall (Washington Wizards), Kemba Walker (Charlotte Bobcats) and Victor Oladipo (Orlando Magic).

In the coming weeks leading up to the game’s release on November 19 in North America and in the worldwide on November 22 for Xbox One and November 29 for PlayStation 4, a number of videos showing how they all contributed their likeness, their signature moves, and their basketball expertise to enhance the realism and detail of EA Sports’ return to digital pro basketball.

“The time, access and feedback these athletes have provided has been invaluable,” said NBA LIVE 14 Executive Producer Sean O’Brien. “We’ve been able to capture signature m oves and unique styles through mocap sessions, and their willingness to provide open and honest feedback has helped us do so much more with the game in year one than we ever could have achieved without them.”
