Titanfall has managed to receive over 80 awards from the media and the game hasn’t even been released yet! Respawn Entertainment’s founders packed up their bag of multiplayer tricks and innovation while they left Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty development halls and set out to revolutionize the FPS genre on their own. So far, the hype seems to be worth the wait.

Well, now the countdown begins as a recent press release announced the release date of March 11th, 2014 on the Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC. European pilots can gear up on March 13th.

In anticipation, Respawn and EA are offering a bulky Collector’s Edition that will run you a cool $250. Sure to sate that fever pitch, the Collector’s Edition includes  18 inch statue with diorama and LED lighting, a 190-page art book and a schematic poster of the Atlas titan.

Here’s an excerpt from the press release the made the announcement:

“Since we revealed the game in June we’ve been absolutely blown away by the reaction to Titanfall,” said Vince Zampella, a Co-Creator of Call of Duty and Co-Founder of Respawn Entertainment. “The feedback we’re getting from fans around the world is fueling our team as we head towards March and motivating us to deliver an experience that lives up to the hype.”

Whether it was Joystiq, IGN, or Gamespot, the excitement and admiration is a common theme amongst all who get their hands on it. The FPS genre and EA could have another big hit on their hands.
