Producer, rapper, singer, songwriter, musician, Pharrell Williams has been a hitmaker for years, most noted for his role in creating the, now iconic, ‘Neptunes sound’. Think Britney Spears’ “I’m a Slave 4 U,” Kelis’ “Milkshake,” Nelly’s “Hot in Herre,” several of JayZ’s hits, Beyonce’s hits, and the list goes on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on…

2013 was a phenomenal year for Pharrell, scoring two of the biggest records of the year with Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” and Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky”, not to mention his chart topping single, “Happy” which peaked at #2 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart and is nominated for a 2014 Academy Award for Best Original Song (Despicable Me 2). Now is as good a time as any for Pharrell to release a new album, as it has been 8 years since his last studio release. G I R L will be released Monday, March 3rd following Pharrell’s highly anticipated performance of “Happy” at this year’s Oscars on March 2nd.

“When Columbia Records presented me with the opportunity to make an album, three things came to mind,” says Pharrell. “One was the sense of overwhelming honor that I felt when I realized that they were interested in partnering with me on the album that I had always dreamt of making.  Two, it would have to feel festive and urgent.  And three, I instantly knew it would be called G  I  R  L. I hope you like it.”
