Bruce Lee to Enter the Octagon – EA Sports UFC
WOW! Electronic Arts and UFC have tried for years to drop a successful UFC video game that the masses would gravitate towards. Well, the addition to trump ALL additions in video game sports may have just occured. Announced today, a digital version of the master of Jeet Kune Do, Bruce Lee, will join the likes of Lyoto “the Dragon” Machida, Ronda “Rowdy” Rousey, Cain Velasquez, Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell in the UFC Octagon!
“I am so excited about this opportunity to bring my father back to videogames!” said Shannon Lee, Bruce Lee’s daughter, CEO of Bruce Lee, LLC and Chairperson of the Bruce Lee Foundation. “I’m thrilled that fans can now interact with him in a new way. The EA SPORTS UFC development team has been incredible to work with, and they’ve done a great job capturing the look and feel of my father. I think people will love getting a chance to fulfill a fight fantasy by playing Bruce Lee in the new UFC game.”
In the past, games like Street Fighter, Tekken, and Mortal Kombat would add Bruce Lee clones who would mix it up with their interesting and at times unrealistic rosters of world martial artists. Here, EA Sports and UFC look to show MMA fans and gamers the true legend that was Bruce. Star of such movies as “Enter The Dragon” and “Fists Of Fury”, kids of this generation missed the reality that Bruce was a legend long before his movies captured the imagination of martial arts fans all over the world.
Here, on the next gen version of EA Sports UFC, Bruce Lee will take his legendary ‘monkey call’ to the Xbox One and PS4 on June 17th. To access him you can either pre-order the game here or you can beat the game on Pro difficulty.
