Why Beyonce Is The Last Diva
In true Beyoncé fashion, the pop megastar went on yet another wig snatching escapade – this time taking over the city of brotherly love. Queen Bey, who recently celebrated her 34th birthday, was the headliner during husband Jay-Z‘s annual Made In America music festival held on Saturday (Sept. 5) in Philadelphia – and it goes without saying, she took no prisoners. But while basking in all of her usual amazingness, it really hit me that Beyonce is the last of a dying breed…the Diva.
Lets be honest, “diva” is so loosely thrown around nowadays that it’s almost a joke to those of us who remember superstars like Witney and auntie Patti. Now yes Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift and many more are topping billboard charts and selling out shows, but do any of them give you that old school Michael Jackson hyperventilating and pass out feeling? Didn’t think so.
Once Beyoncé hangs up her heels, there will never be another woman who encompasses what a diva truly is – and her Made In America performance only further solidified that:
– That intro:
Just off the intro alone..she could end a career.
First let her hop out the mother*#&in Porsche.
Vocals, vocals, vocals.
–Jay was turnt the entire performance:
No seriously, he was fanning out.
Ah, that rich love.
–She just stood there, and everyone lost their entire minds.
–She repped for Philly
–Nicki was stanning
–Everybody was stanning!
–Success means nothing if family isn’t there:
Look at Blue! She’s gonna be tall like Hov.
–What you say? She aint no divvvaaaa?
Ok Bey, Saturday night was magical and all, but where’s that new album?
