This weekend over 200 guests gathered at Mr. C in Beverly Hills at the Culture Creators Brunch, in celebration with the 2016 BET Awards. Culture Creators’ founder and Senior Vice President of Marketing and Brand Partnerships at Atlantic Records, Joi Pitts, called on the music industry’s most powerful figures to celebrate their contributions to furthering Black culture in the music industry. Katt Williams, DJ Drama, Laz Alonso, Estelle, Bridget Kelly, Bevy Smith, and more joined in on the festivities honoring the industry’s leaders and innovators.


Sponsored by Seagram’s Gin and Revolt TV, the brunch acknowledged those who are leaders in the entertainment industry and had them “pass the torch” to the current innovators making their mark as professionals behind the scenes. Greeted with signature cocktails from Seagram’s Gin, the Master of Ceremony, Mona Scott-Young (television producer and music manager) presented each honoree with their award. After a slew of inspiring speeches including moving words by Yvette Noel-Schure, who represented Prince and has been Beyonce’s publicist since her time in Destiny’s Child. Comedian, Katt Williams stole the show when he made a surprise appearance hilariously accepting the award on behalf of entertainment industry trailblazer,Andre Harrell. Each year, Culture Creators hopes to continue to honor those actively furthering the success of the Black influencers in entertainment.




Ethiopia Habtemariam (President of Urban Music and /Co-Head of Creative to Universal Music Publishing Group) has worked with Justin Bieber, Chris Brown, Ne-Yo, Miguel, J Cole, and Ciara.

Michael “Blue” Williams (Blue AGI Management and Marketing Solutions) has guided the careers of Outkast, Nas, and Big Sean.

Juliette Jones (SVP, Radio Promotions, Atlantic Records) has worked with everyone from Jamie Foxx, Wale, and Jill Scott.

Yvette Noel-Schure (Founder of Schure Media Group) serves as Beyoncé and Prince’s personal publicist.

Mark Pitts (President, Urban Music, RCA Records & CEO Bystorm Entertainment) has managed The Notorious B.I.G, Nas, Usher, and TLC.

Chris Atlas (SVP of Marketing Island Def Jam Recordings) is responsible for overseeing the marketing of Rick Ross, Nas, Jadakiss, Trinidad Jame$, and others.

Andre Harrell (Vice Chairman of REVOLT Media & TV) has launched  the careers of Sean Combs, Jodeci, Heavy D and The Boyz, Mary J. Blige, and Al B. Sure! to stardom.

DJ Drama (A&R of Atlantic Records) gained recognition as T.I.’s official DJ and his Gangsta Grillz mixtape series, which has launched the careers of Jeezy, Rick Ross, Nelly, Gucci Mane, and Yo Gotti.



Phylicia Fant (VP, Publicity & Lifestyle Marketing, Warner Brothers Records) has been apart of successful careers of JoJo, Kid Cudi, Amy Winehouse and Jason Derulo.

Dallas Martin (SVP, A&R, MMG & Atlantic Records) has been instrumental in helping to guide the careers of artists like K. Michelle, Rick Ross, Wale, Meek Mill, and more.

Kristen Fraser (Music Marketing, Beats By Dre) has grown into a powerful up-and-comer over the years by working for companies like Cornerstone, Nike, and Island Def Jam.

Miss Diddy (The Brand Group LA) works as a promoter and is one of the only females in this very male dominated sector of the industry.
