Okay, so Heed LOVES Anthony aka Tonex and now B-Slade but how do you all feel about his departure from gospel to well…mainstream music? Forget about pushing the envelope this video nearly rips it apart. The staff’s opinion goes as follows: “Sequel” makes D’Angelo’s, “How Does It Feel” look like a Nick Jr. Sitcom.

BACKGROUND
A few noteworthy masterpieces includes the empowerment song “Papi Figure”, particularly for those who are either coming out or people in transition from one gender to the next. The liquid sex song “Sequel” is an expression of sexuality and sensuality. This is the first time that you are hearing the love factor not just the sexual factor in an erotic song, which makes it different from other baby-making music. On “Freak U Good”, one can hear the musical influence from three eras all in one; the 70′s parliament sound, the Prince Minneapolis funk sounds of the 80′s to the pop sounds of now. The title track “Diesel” is about inspiration to never give up no matter what…just keep going.
Although some may recognize him from the gospel world, in a recent 10-page article “The New Yorker Magazine” described B. SLADE as “His eccentric style and vertiginous high notes helped make him one of the most acclaimed praise singers of the past decade, and, for a time, one of the most successful. He had a certain hip-hop swagger and the status of a sex symbol.” —The New Yorker
His musical efforts have been known to blend a smorgasbord of styles, including pop, r&b, jazz, soul, funk, hip hop, rock, latin, electro, punk and trance, and has created a distinct sound and eclectic style of music.
