On the heels of fashion week, the Style Salon hosted the fashion week debut of five promising designers at Landmark on the Path. Heed Magazine was there as fashion designers: Kachi Designs, Maria Michele, and Ikasho and accessories designers: Nailah’s and Sukari New York previewed looks for Spring and Summer.
Kachi boasted radiant reds, golds, and blues and African-inspired print. Oversized leather clutches provided by Nailah’s Handbags accentuated the looks. The highlight of this collection was the “Goddess Dress,” a silk chiffon gown with teal and gold sequin trim.
Maria Michele drew attention to a woman’s back with its metallic, sequined, and drape chain detailing, adding a shimmering take on the backless trend. Exotic leather handbags by Sukari New York complimented the designs. The capstone look of this collection was the modern Italian satin wedding gown with crystal appliqué.
The final collection of the evening, Ikasho, showed us that it is a pleasant day at the races when a woman is wearing a good hat. The line previewed an assortment of bright and bold straw hats accented with leather, suede, or silk trimming.
Style will definitely be in bloom in 2012.
